Octavio Brunetti

Octavio Brunetti ( b. 1975 in Rosario ) is an Argentine pianist.

Brunetti began in early childhood, playing the piano and was trained in classical piano. Before the end of his studies at the National College of Music, he has performed in concerts and discovered his passion for the tango, the music of his homeland. After a short time he played with famous musicians, such as Alberto Castillo, Eladia Blazquez, Ruben Juarez, Domingo Federico, Rodolfo Mederos and Osvaldo Piro. He has already occurred with Horacio Salgan - De Lio and Atilio Stampone.

His talent has been awarded several prizes; Brunetti appeared in Buenos Aires and the Teatro San Martin in Cordoba at a young age at the Teatro Colon. In 2002 he became conductor of the Provincial Orchestra of Folk Music in Cordoba.

After an extended tour of Europe Brunetti came to the U.S. and won directly at the International Tango competition in New York both prices, both for the best solo pianist as well as the best duet. In the U.S., he played among others with the bandoneon master Daniel Binelli, Raul Jaurena, Hector Del Curto and Tito Castro. In September 2006, he founded the Octavio Brunetti Quintet.
