Oden

Oden (Japaneseおでん, also:御 田) is a Japanese dish consisting of several ingredients such as boiled eggs, daikon ( radish ), konnyaku and Chikuwa and is cooked in dashi with konbu or katsuobushi.

Karashi can be added as seasoning. In Nagoya miso is used as Dippsauce and the court also Kantō ni (关 东 煮, dt " Kantō - Cooked " ) because Oden comes from the Kanto Region. Also known odes in Kansai under the rare expression Kantō daki (関東炊き, " Kanto - Boiled ").

Oden is originally from Misodengaku, shortened Dengaku: konnyaku or tofu was boiled and eaten with miso. Later, the ingredients were cooked in dashi and miso instead of gained popularity.

Notwithstanding the most stews ingredients can be added at any time and left long in the dashi. Thus, Oden was a popular dish for the winter time in Japanese convenience stores and is also offered by selling cars. There are many variations and local varieties. Oden will be offered from 50 yen per ingredient cooked with dashi.
