Ödön Mihalovich

Odon Péter József of Mihalovich [ Odon mihɒlovitʃ ] (* September 13 1842 in Fericsánci, Croatia - Slavonia, today Feričanci, Osijek - Baranja, Croatia, † April 22, 1929 in Budapest) was a Hungarian composer.

Mihalovich studied in Budapest at Mihály Mosonyi and in Leipzig with Moritz Hauptmann. In Munich, where he took lessons with Peter Cornelius, he met Richard Wagner know, under whose influence it a Richard Wagner Society founded in Budapest. From 1886 to 1919 he headed the National Music Academy.

He composed four symphonies and several symphonic poems, orchestral overtures and a piano concerto, six operas, choral works and songs.
