Oginski Canal

The Oginskische channel system is a channel connection in the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania between the Dnieper and the Memel.

It leads from the Memel on Shchara, Oginskischer channel Jasselda and Pripyat to the Dnieper.

The Oginskische channel itself is 58 km long. Construction of the canal began in 1776 Oginskischen by the Hetman Michael Casimir Oginski. The canal system was completed in 1804.

The channel is not identical to the Dnieper-Bug Canal.
