Ogonna Nnamani

Ogonna Nneka Nnamani ( born July 29, 1983 in Bloomington, Indiana) is an American volleyball player.

The 1.85 meter tall player, whose parents are from Nigeria immigrated to the United States, began her career in volleyball team from Stanford University, with whom she won the NCAA championship in her first year in 2001. At the same time they went through the various youth national teams of the United States. In 2002, she was the first time the U.S. national team. Their first major international tournament were the Pan American Games in 2003, where Nnamani with the U.S. team won the bronze medal. In 2004, she finished with the U.S. team to fifth place at the Olympic Games in Athens.

After her degree in Human Biology Nnamani moved abroad in order to play professional volleyball. She began 2006 with Pinkin de Corozal, Puerto Rico, and then played at Piacenza in Italy. In January 2007 she moved to VBC Voléro Zurich and then moved to Asystel Novara. Since the beginning of season 2008/2009 she played at Galatasaray Istanbul.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she was the second youngest player of the U.S. team, despite their many years of experience. In the Olympic final, the U.S. women lost to Brazil and thus won the silver medal.

It is closely related with the governor of the Nigerian state of Enugu, Chimaroke Nnamani.
