Olaf Schmidt (ski jumper)
Olaf Schmidt is a former German ski jumper. He belonged to the SC Dynamo Klingenthal.
Schmidt started in the 1979/80 season with a total of two World Cup competitions in Zakopane. He was in his first competition already with the 3rd place for the first time on the podium. In the second event, he reached the 4th place and so missed the podium by just barely. Despite this good performance, they were the only two World Cup events in his career. At the end of the season, he finished with his fellow countryman Jochen Dannenberg with 27 points 33rd place in the overall World Cup standings.
