Olapade Adeniken

Olapade Adeniken ( born August 19, 1969 in Oshogbo ) is a retired Nigerian sprinter who specialized lines of the 100 - and 200 -meter run were.

Sporting successes

Adeniken participated in three Summer Olympics (1988, 1992, 1996 ) in part and celebrated his biggest success by winning the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meters relay at the Games of Barcelona 1992. Together with Chidi Imoh, Oluyemi Kayode and Davidson Ezinwa Adeniken had to deal in 37.98 s only the U.S. team led by Carl Lewis and Leroy Burrell ( 37.40 s ) to admit defeat.

Also silver medals won Adeniken at the World Athletics Championships 1997 in Athens, with the relay as well as at the Summer Universiade 1989 in Duisburg in the 100 -meter run.

Adeniken was the first African to undercut the 10 - second barrier in the 100 -meter run.
