Old Government House, Queensland

As Old Government House, the first official residence of the Governor of Queensland is known. It is located on the Gardens Point campus of the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

History

Already Sir George Bowen, the first Governor of Queensland, resided in the 1862 completed buildings. It served this purpose until the establishment of the Government House, now the seat of the governor, which is located in Bardon, a suburb of Brisbane. Then the National Trust of Australia, Old Government House used temporarily as Headquarters within Queensland.
