The land was donated to the church and also served the historic Old Murray School House and the Dublin Pioneer Cemetery.

The church is decorated in a simple Gothic Revival style and the facade is clad with white shingles in the New England style. The wooden pews and the white plank floors are Redwoodholz. The wood for the construction of the chapel dates from the mountains around Oakland; the logs were brought by oxen to Dublin to be cut here. The building was built by Irish immigrants who left their homeland before the Great Famine and some time in New York City were living before they joined the early wagon trains westward. During construction collapsed on September 6, 1859 Tom Donlon to death and so was the first person who was buried in the Dublin Pioneer Cemetery.

Originally it was a Christian missionary church. The inhabitants of the place but could not afford a permanent priest, so that a member of the clergy from Oakland once rode a month with a mule to St. Raymond's, to read the Holy Mass. The first wedding was in 1865 closed, the bell tower was added in 1880 the building.

In 1966 the congregation moved into a larger building in order, also with the name of St. Raymond 's Church, and the Diocese of Oakland handed the old building of the Amador - Livermore Valley Historical Society ( ALVHS ) on the conservation and restoration. This association used the building for different purposes and sold in 1993 to the City of Dublin it. The city was also able to buy, the adjacent Old Murray School House and the Dublin Pioneer Cemetery, and was able to identify the Dublin Heritage Center. The first documented renovation of Old St. Raymond 's Church took place in 1922 and the last date took place a short time after the city came into the possession of the building. The general appearance of the church is unchanged since the establishment in 1859.
