Olena Zhupina

Olena Hryhoriwna Schupina (Ukrainian Олена Григорівна Жупіна, born August 23, 1973 in Zaporizhia ) is a former Ukrainian Water Diving. She jumped both in art and in diving as well as in the 3- m and 10 -m synchronized diving. She participated in three Olympic Games and won a bronze medal at the 1998 World Cup she was also double world champion.

Schupina took in 1996 in Atlanta for the first time in the Olympic Games. She reached from the 3 -meter board in fifth and the 10 - m tower sixth. In Sydney in 2000, she was again sixth from the tower and won with Hanna Sorokina in the 3 -meter synchronized diving bronze medal. The duo went on to becoming the first Ukrainian Olympic medal in the water jump. Athens 2004 she appeared only in diving and ended up in ninth place. Thus Schupina reached the final in each of their Olympic competitions.

In World Swimming Championships Schupina celebrated their biggest success in 1998. In Perth, she won the gold medal from the 10 - m tower, both in single as well as with Switlana Serbina synchronized diving. 2001 in Fukuoka she missed as fourth from 10 - m tower and in the 3 -meter synchronized diving medal each just barely. In the 10 -meter synchronized diving, she was eighth. 2003 in Barcelona, it reached the 10 - m tower again finished fourth, from the 3 -meter board and finished ninth in the 10 -meter synchronized diving seventh.

Successful Schupina was also at European swimming championships. Your first medal she won bronze from the tower in 1993 in Sheffield. Schupina ended her active career after the 2004 Olympics.
