Olha Volkova

Olha Wolodymyriwna Volkova (Ukrainian Ольга Володимирівна Волкова, born July 5, 1986 in Mykolaiv ) is a Ukrainian freestyle skier. She specializes in the discipline Aerials ( jumping).

Biography

Volkova had her World Cup debut on 10 March 2004 in Sauze d' Oulx. The first World Cup points they won on 5 February 2005 with 9th place in Shenyang. In the following five years, each followed by several top 10 results, but for the world top it was not enough. End of the 2009/10 season two fifth places were their best results.

The first podium in a World Cup competition succeeded Volkova 29 January 2011 with the 3rd place in Calgary. Six days later she was able to celebrate the biggest success of their sports career at Deer Valley by winning the bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships. Her first World Cup victory, they celebrated in Mont Gabriel on January 15, 2012. With four other podium places they finished third in the discipline rating of the season 2011/12.
