Olivella
Olivella is a municipality in the province of Barcelona ( Spain) with 3617 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).
Geographical Location
The municipality is located in the north of the comarca Garraf, in the same mountains of the Garraf on the western edge of a nature reservation. The village is located about 35 kilometers southwest of Barcelona.

History
992 was the old castle, in 1264 mentions the new castle of Olivella first time. The Bishop of Barcelona was in 1272 next to the old castle, a church, St.. Dedicated to Peter, build. 1429 built a new church on the site of the new castle and expanded in the years 1607-1625 and expanded. The church still preserved and restored in 1991 formed the core of the community Olivella.
Built in 1890, the " americano or indio " (a grown rich in America citizens from Sitges) Pere Domènech i cast the palace Novella. The building should be the center of a farming community. The project failed, however, after only 6 years. Since 1996, the palace is a Buddhist monastery.

- The village of Olivella. Beautifully restored stone-built houses serve many Catalans as a second residence.
- Palau Novella, built in 1890 in the style of eclecticism was renovated in 1996.
