Oliver Cheatham

Oliver Cheatham ( born 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, † November 29, 2013 ) was an American singer.

Life

Cheatham was from his mother at a young age persuaded to be musically active. He has performed as a member of several groups until you noticed his talent. The record company MCA Records then closed a contract with him and took care of the sales of his albums.

In 1983 came the first album ( Saturday Night ) and the hit Get Down Saturday Night by the great success. This title came in the UK in the top 40 of the singles chart. The various remixes were a success. This song was the time the reference for many musicians (for example, Def Bond, Franz Ferdinand or even Daft Punk ).

2003 came out the reissue of Get Down Saturday Night under the name Make Luv in collaboration with Room 5. This song spent four weeks in the Top 40 and was in France a bestseller. In 2005 came another remake of the old song in collaboration with DJ Michael Gray on the market. In 2007, the album Saturday Night for the second time, with new songs, for sale offered. In Germany he was last modified on April 27, 2013 at the Baltic Soul Weekender live on stage.

Cheatham died on 29 November 2013 of a heart attack.
