Oliver Parker

Oliver Parker ( born September 6, 1960 in London ) is a British film director, screenwriter, producer and actor.

Life

Parker was born the son of a writer and a doctor and a manager of British Rail in London. He is the brother of actor Nathaniel Parker.

His career in film began with Parker micro and supporting roles in various film and television productions from 1986. Had a recurring role in the series Casualty, he took over from 1993 until 1994.

From the mid- 1990s, he turned to directing. He made his debut in 1995 with Othello, for which he also wrote the screenplay. Mostly he staged since Comedies.

For his screenplay for his second film as director, An Ideal Husband, he was nominated in 2000 for a BAFTA Award.
