Olivier Nicolas André Dacourt ( born September 25, 1974 in Montreuil -sous -Bois ) is a former French footballer.

Career

Dacourt began his professional career in 1992 with Racing Strasbourg. In the 1997/98 season, the midfielder moved to the English Premier League for Everton, but could not quite get a foothold and went back to France in 1999 for RC Lens. In 2000 the second attempt followed in the Premier League, now essential successful at Leeds United. In Leeds he became one of the best midfielders in the English league, which are both defensively as offensively effective. During his time at Leeds he became the French national team, but could not prevail in the battle for a place in the squad for the World Cup 2002. It was not until his move in 2003 to the top Italian club AS Roma, he belonged to the tribe of the French national team and played in the European Football Championship 2004 in Portugal his first major tournament. In 2006 he moved to league rivals Inter Milan, and won a total of three times the Italian championship.

The Milan awarded him in February 2009 to the end of the season in the Premier League for Fulham FC. At the end of the 2009/2010 season, his contract was not renewed in Milan and Dacourt found in September 2009 a new employer. He signed a 1-year contract with the Belgian champions Standard Liege. On February 8, 2010 agreed the players and club the termination agreement, after the player in the season only nine times, including three times was in the starting lineup, are used.
