Olushandja Dam

Main water supplier to the capital Windhoek

The Olushandja Dam is a dam in Namibia, approximately 30 kilometers east of Ruacana and 120 kilometers northwest of Oshakati. The Olushandja dam was completed in 1990 as a gravity dam and serves as a balancing reservoir for the water balance to located in Angola Calueque dam.

The Olushandja Reservoir is fed by the Kunene River and has a capacity of approximately 42.3 million cubic meters. It is equipped with a surface area of 29 km ², the largest of Namibia.
