Ruacana is a city in the Omusati Region ( Ovamboland ) in northern Namibia, with a border crossing over the border river Kunene north to Calueque in Angola. Ruacana was a village until the beginning of 2011 and received early February 2011, the city status. It has 2,900 inhabitants.

Policy

In the local elections of 2010 following official final result was determined.

During the reporting room 2008/2009, the village has recorded revenue of 5,657,206 Namibian dollar, which expenditure of N are $ 6,001,042 over. This results in a deficit of N $ 343 836.

Economy and infrastructure

Ruacana owns next to the county government, some schools, medical and tourist facilities and an airfield. The company NamPower and NamWater here have larger branches, from which the water and energy is being coordinated at several dams of the Kunene and serve their maintenance. The Ruacana Falls of the Kunene are a famous attraction in the region.
