Öndörkhaan
Öndörchaan (Mongolian Өндөрхаан ) is the capital of Khentii Aimag in Mongolia.
Geography
Öndörchaan located on the banks of the river Cherlen on a vast and unprotected level. She is the zweitkälteste city in Mongolia.
Economy
A coal mining area at Moron River about 50 km from the city is the largest economic factor in the region.
History
The aircraft of the Chinese politician Lin Biao to be crashed on his flight from China on 13 September 1971 in the vicinity of Öndörchaan. He and his family were killed.
Traffic
The airport of Öndörchaan ( UNR / ZMUH ) has a dirt runway, and is served by regular flights from and to Ulan Bator.
The city is a transportation hub on the route between Ulaanbaatar and Choibalsan, and on a secondary overland route between Mongolia and China.
