One Chase Manhattan Plaza

The One Chase Manhattan Plaza is a 60- storey tall skyscraper in New York City. It is located in the southern Manhattan, the Lower Manhattan district.

The building was completed in 1961. The building was designed by the renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM ), while the Plaza was designed by Isamu Noguchi in front of the building. It has 60 floors and is 248 meters high, this height makes it the 14th - tallest building in New York City. The building of Gordon Bunshaft ( Skidmore, Owings and Merrill ) was built in the international style and resembles the Inland Steel Building in Chicago. The façade of the building consists of aluminiumumhüllten steel beams and glass. It has a floor space of 180,000 square meters in the areas above the street level and 600 square meters in the fields below street level. The usable area of the building is used with the exception of some technical equipment almost entirely for offices.

The building and the plaza in front of it from the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission was declared a National Monument on February 10, 2009.
