One Man Army and the Undead Quartet
One Man Army and the Undead Quartet ( OMAATUQ ) was a death metal band from Sweden. Her style can be described as death metal with thrash metal elements and influences.
History
Founded in 2004 by Johan Lindstrand OMAATUQ after the ex - The Crown - singer split from his band to start a solo project. To accomplish this, he got help from Valle Adzic. They began to take the time written by Lindstrand six songs, this time without Lead-/Solo guitar and without bass. After some time, Valle Adzic also took over the bass. Because of this, however, would rather take care of his own solo project Impious to Lindstrand had to make the search for fixed band members again.
After some time, Mikael Lagerblad joined the band and took over the role of lead guitarist, and the promo tape "When Hatred Comes To Life" with 6 tracks and 13 solos was taken, but still without rhythm guitar.
At the time of the recordings at the same time the search for a second guitarist was started. Pekka Kiviaho applied and got the job immediately. The search for a permanent drummer was with Marek Dobrowolski its end, the band was now complete.
After the rehearsed demo reached some record labels, the musicians got a contract from Nuclear Blast and began work on her debut album 21st Century Killing Machine, which finally came on the market in January 2006.
From December 2005, the band as a support act with Children of Bodom and Ektomorf on a European tour. From March to May 2006, they toured Germany.
2006 was published with Christmas For The Lobotomizer the first single of the band. It is a new song, the title song of the single, and three live pieces recorded at Summer Breeze 2006. The single was only available through the Nuclear Blast mailorder and is limited according to the label to 500 pieces.
The second album Error in Evolution was released on 9 March 2007.
The third album Grim Tales was released in October 2008. On the album for the first time was to hear their new guitarist Matthias Bolander.
On 1 April 2009 the band announced on their website that lead guitarist Mikael Lagerblad leaves the band. In early September it was announced that a new lead guitarist was found with Jonas Blom. He won a Nationwide tender in Sweden for the succession of Lagerblad. In 2011, the band played at the Circle Pit Festival in Heimersheim.
Early 2012 was singer Johan Lindstrand announced that he was planning a reunion with The Crown and One Man Army and the Undead Quartet would pause for that reason. In December 2012, however, the final separation followed in favor of The Crown.
