Onur Air

Onur Air is a Turkish airline based in Istanbul and base at the airport Ataturk.

History

1990s

Onur Air was founded April 14, 1992 as a subsidiary of the Turkish tour operator TK Air Travel and took only one month later flight operations with a factory -new Airbus A320 - 200. The fleet was supplemented by the spring of 1993 for a further three factory new copies.

1994 Ten tour group took part in the fledgling Turkish airline and took it all later. With a more sustainable financing of Onur Air built from July 1995, the Airbus fleet to nine other units and began with the establishment of a national route network.

As of 1996, eingeflottet due to the increasing international popularity of Turkish holiday destinations, Airbus A300B4 -200. Starting in 1997, came to less demand routes McDonnell Douglas MD -83 and MD -88 are used.

2000s

On 13 May 2005, the airline was withdrawn from both the German Federal Aviation Office as well as by the Dutch authorities, the test flight permission due to safety defects. There are serious defects in the machinery of the Onur Air have been detected. In response, Turkey withdrew then the German airlines permission to land. After protests from the Foreign Office, the test flight ban on German aircraft was canceled. On May 14, the airline was also withdrawn by the Swiss and the French air safety authority, the test flight permit. Onur Air was awarded by then Airbus and Boeing nine times because of their maintenance procedures with certificates. In the period from 4 to 6 July 2005, provisionally closed in accordance with the edition of the re- issue of entry permit with a so-called "Final Meeting" on the home airport of Onur Air in Antalya checking the airline.

In the summer of 2009, the owner of Onur Air, Cankut bagana managed two more Airbus A320 -200. These machines are currently being used under the symbol TC -KLA and TC- KLB for Kolavia. This was preceded by a partnership between Kolavia and Onur Air Cankut bagana has participated in the Kolavia. Furthermore, it was in Turkey established a company with the same name.

Onur Air is a member of IATA and participates in the IATA Operational Safety Audit ( IOSA ) part.

Destinations

Onur Air operates primarily by charter flights and offering their aircraft and their crews to in wetlease. Since deregulation of the Turkish aviation market Onur Air has beyond pure domestic connections in regular service and operates three emanating from Istanbul international scheduled routes to Ganja, Odessa and Urmia. Incidents

Onur Air recorded in its history no incidents with fatalities or aircraft losses.

  • From 12 to 24 May 2005, a ban for the airspace of the Netherlands was pronounced against Onur Air due to several incidents.
  • On August 20, 2011 triggered an Airbus A321 Onur Air on the way from Manchester to Turkey in the Bavarian airspace an interceptor using the Euro Fighter alarm relay of Jagdgeschwader 74 and later an Austrian alarm from rotting. It is assumed that a lack of radio contact with the air traffic control in Munich.
