Open Canada Cup

The Open Canada Cup is a Canadian soccer competition along the lines of the FA Cup and U.S. Open Cup. He was held for the first time in 1998. The first winners were the Toronto Olympians, who are also record-holder with 3 wins ( 1998-2000). The competition is open to all clubs from Canada. In fact participated until 2007 only Canadian Soccer League clubs and some Amateuervereine from Ontario. With the Toronto Lynx in 2006 for the first time a team from the USL First Division, the second ( U.S. ) participated in the American League. Since 2007, also take part in teams of British Columbia.

The Open Canada Cup has been exposed in 2008 as the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA ) is a Canadian Championship aligns Canadian professional clubs. There are currently four professional clubs: FC Edmonton, Montreal Impact, Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
