Orange County Blue Star

Orange County Blue Star is an American soccer club based in Irvine, California. The team was founded in 1997.

History

By 2001, they played in the USL First Division, the second highest league, as Orange County Zodiac and Orange County Waves.

2001, the name was then changed to Orange County Blue Star and since then they played two classes deeper in the USL Premier Development League, the fourth-highest American League. There previously they could win three times the regular season in the Conference South West. The Blue Stars but never made it further than the quarter-finals in the playoffs.

2003 played Jurgen Klinsmann after his official career end as Jay Goppingen for the Blue Stars. He made eight games for the Californians, scoring five goals. His former strike partner Matthew Taylor plays since the 2012/13 season for Preußen Münster. In MLS SuperDraft 2000 Thorsten Damm of Orange County was gedrafet as a player. However, he opted for a return to Germany and was most recently an assistant coach at SV Sandhausen in the 2nd Bundesliga. Moreover played Ryan Coiner, a former player of Holstein Kiel and the first FC Union Berlin, in his youth for the club.
