Oranje Zwart

The Mixed Hockey Club Oranje Zwart (abbreviated OZ) was established on 1 September 1933. With its 1700 members OZ is the largest hockey club from Eindhoven.

History

Both the men's team as well as the ladies play 2007/2008 in the highest Dutch league, the Hoofdklasse. Oranje Zwart is regarded as a pioneer in the professionalization of the top Dutch hockey. Under the leadership of then- leader and now honorary chairman Joop Veelenturf the club started in 1995 some spectacular player obligations whose first the change from the German penalty corner specialist Carsten Fischer Uhlenhorst Mülheim represented. Later, the obligations of the Pakistani ball virtuosos Shahbaz Ahmad and the Australian top players Jay Stacy and Troy Elder followed.

To prevent young talents from clubs in the Randstad are being lured, 2002 Hockey College was set up to be from 13 specially trained in the young players. Since August 2006, the attacker of the Dutch national Jeroen Delmee has worked as head coach at Hockey College.

The men reached 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005, the finals of the national championship. After three failed attempts, the 2005 team was able to win their first league title in his club history in the final series against the HC Bloemendaal. During the season the team reached 200672007 only ninth in the Hoofdklasse. For the women's team again rose in the season in the Hoofdklasse after it was relegated in 2005.

The club area is located in the Gemeentelijk Sportpark aan de Aalsterweg in the south of Eindhoven directly on the A2 and comprises four artificial grass courts.
