Örn Clausen

Örn Clausen ( born November 8, 1928 in Reykjavík, † December 12, 2008 ) was an Icelandic athlete who in 1950 finished second in the decathlon at the European Athletics Championships.

At the 1948 Olympic Games in London Örn Clausen difference in the 100 -meter run from the inlet port. In the decathlon, he reached 6444 points ( 6146 points, according to current rating ) that finished twelfth. Two years later at the European Championships 1950 in Brussels struggled Örn Clausen along with the Frenchman Ignace Heinrich for the gold medal. In the end, Henry had 67 points clear, Örn Clausen received for 7297 points ( 6819 ) the silver medal. In 1951, he improved to 7453 points ( 6932 ) and thus took third place in the annual global leaderboard.

At a height of 1.84 meters his competition weight was 83 kilograms. Örn Clausen's twin brother Haukur Clausen was also athlete.
