Orphan Black

Orphan Black ( German: "Black orphan " ) is a Canadian science fiction series with Tatiana Maslany as Sarah Manning, which assumes their identity after the suicide of a woman who looks like her. After some time, it turns out that the two clones were and there are still more. The series premiered on March 30, 2013 on BBC America and Space Premiere. In addition to numerous nominations Tatiana Maslany won a Critics' Choice Television Awards in the category Best Actress in a Drama Series. The series will be broadcast simultaneously in Canada on the Space station and in the U.S. on BBC America.

Action

Sarah Manning is an orphan and outsider. One day she watched as a woman who resembles her confusingly, commits suicide. Since her life actually offers no prospects, she takes unceremoniously to their identity. Consequently, they must now work as a police officer. After some time, Sarah learns that she and the dead woman, Elizabeth "Beth" Childs, clones were and that there are other clones of them, who are scattered all over the world. Furthermore, she learns that there are other clones of other people. However, there is an assassin who is trying to wipe out the clones.

Production

On 12 June 2012, announced that Temple Street Productions will produce a ten-part first season of the series on behalf of BBC Worldwide and Space. The end of June announced BBC America to broadcast the series in the United States. In September 2012, Tatiana Maslany was committed to the central role of the main series. The other main characters were added in October of 2012 with the start of filming for the first season in Toronto. Filming ended in February 2013.

Beginning in May 2013 ordered BBC America and Space on the basis of very satisfactory rates a second season of the series, again with ten episodes.

Broadcast

The first season of the series was sent between March 30 and June 1, 2013 the United States on the BBC America and in Canada on the Space station. The second season will be broadcast from 19 April 2014.

In Germany, the transmitter ZDFneo has announced the broadcast of the first season from May 2, 2014 and the second season from autumn 2014.
