Geographical location

Orsingen- Nenzingen located in Hegau between Singen ( Hohentwiel ) and Stockach.

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north by Eigeltingen, on the east by the city Stockach, to the south and to the west by Steisslingen Volkertshausen and the town Aach.

Community structure

The community Orsingen- Nenzingen consists of the parts of the municipality and Nenzingen Orsingen. To Nenzingen the village Nenzingen, the tines inch Bruck, the homestead Dürrenast and the living space sawmill. To Orsingen the village Orsingen, the hamlet of Long Stone, the courtyards Portugieserhof and Stock Felderhof and residential places Rebhaus twill and animal rendering plant.

History

Grave finds from the Hallstatt period ( 800-450 BC) point to a Celtic settlement. An extensive burial ground dating from the 6th to 7th century AD provides information about the settlement of sedentary Alemanni whose leaders Nanzo and his entourage settled here and gave the place its name. The finds are exhibited in the Museum hegau in singing.

On April 21, 839 Nenzingen was first mentioned as Nancingas in a document of the monastery of Reichenau. The place belonged to Landgraviate Nellenburg and came to the extinction of the Counts of Nellenburg 1423 to Further Austria. On March 25, 1799 a battle took place at Stockach that actually Battle of Nenzingen should be called, because the village was located exactly between the positions of the Austrians and the French. 1805 Nenzingen came to Württemberg in 1810 to the newly created Grand Duchy of Baden.

On December 27, 1094 Orsingen was first mentioned. At this time also belonged to this village influence of the Landgrave of Nellenburg which it does in 1174 passed on to the Lords of Long stone. In the following centuries the owners changed frequently until Orsingen 1826 came to Baden.

Both time independent municipalities belonged until 1973 to the district Stockach. When this was dissolved, they exchanged in the district of Konstanz. As part of the Baden-Württemberg district reform the two municipalities were merged on 1 January 1975.

Population

The community Orsingen- Nenzingen has 3264 inhabitants. Of them are living in the district Nenzingen 1801 and in the district Orsingen 1463 people (as of 31 January 2013).

Economy and infrastructure

The sooner rather agricultural community developed into a residential community in which more and more medium-sized businesses settle. Orsingen offers the industrial park behind the hospital, Nenzingen with the commercial area in the basic plots for small and medium businesses. The community also share in the developed jointly with the city Stockach industrial area Hardt.

Traffic

Orsingen- Nenzingen is located near the Federal Highway 98, which provides a connection to Stuttgart, Singing (Hohentwiel ), Schaffhausen, Constance and Friedrichshafen. The near zone is opened up by the federal highway 31 and state road 223.

Rail connection is in the district Nenzingen by the Seehäsle named range Radolfzell - Stockach ( HzL ) is served hourly by the Hohenzollern Landesbahn.

Education

In each district there is a local kindergarten with attached Hort group and Nenzingen in a primary school (full day school) with branch office in Orsingen.

Culture and sights

Structures

  • In Orsingen is the attached to the St. Peter and Paul Church of St. John Chapel. It was built in 1627.
  • In the district Nenzingen is the Martin Chapel. Your bell is considered the second oldest in Germany. The high altar has leaves of Joseph Ignaz Wegscheider and copies several figures of the sculptor Joseph Anton Feuchtmayer. The originals are on display in Rosgartenmuseum in Konstanz. The chapel was renovated in 2006.
  • The municipal area of Orsingen - Nenzingen there are the following remains of the castle: Castle Big Rock, Heath Schlossle, castle Kirn mountain.

Museums

In historic surroundings of Schloss Langenburg stone, the Carnival Museum Schloss Langenburg stone is the fool association hegau Lake Constance.
