Oslo Nye Teater

The Oslo Nye Teater is a municipal theater in the center of Oslo.

It consists of three stages in three different houses: Oslo Nye Hovedscenen ( in Rosenkrantzgate 1059.9144610.739809 ), Oslo Nye Centralteatret ( in Akersgata 3859.91455110.743417 ) and Oslo Nye Trikkestallen ( in Torshovgata 3359.93268910.768028 ). In the basement of the main house theater, the restaurant is ONCentralteatret.

The Oslo Nye Teater ( today's main stage in the Rosenkrantz gate 10 under the name Oslo Nye Hovedscenen ) was opened on February 26, 1929 under the name " Det Nye Teater ." The theater was built from the sequence of a number of major charity events during and after the First World War. In the first years of its existence Norwegian dramas were listed in the program in the first place. The Norwegian writer Johan Boii was a zealous advocate for this theater. The theater finally got its own building in the Rosenkrantz 'gate 10 in Oslo, and was able to attract good actors from Nationaltheatret as lower Harald Stormoen, Henrik Aabel and Odd Frogg. The Det Nye Teater merged in 1959 with the financial reasons Folketeatret and this later with the Oslo Nye Teater. The Oslo Nye Teater took over almost all the staff from the previous two theater companies. The first theater manager after the merger was Axel Otto Normann. 1967 there was an extensive renovation of the houses. The city of Oslo took over for the cost and also more financial responsibility for the ongoing business operations. In 1971, the formerly independent Centralteatret as another stage and this was in the Oslo Nye Teater integrated into the. On 18 February 2003 still came as a further stage to the Trikkestallen. Before that Trikkestallen was a former locomotive shed and storage building, which has become a modern venue expanded and renovated with public funds.

Oslo Nye Teater is the most visited Oslo's theater as well as in Norway. 2008, it had 197 080 visitors. As of 31 December 2008, the theater had 122 employees ( permanent or fixed-term ) and total were committed about 400 people. The theater is run by the Osly Nye Teater AS, a subsidiary hunderprozentigen in Oslo municipality.

2009 Svein Sturla Hungnes was appointed theater director. From 1 January 2010, took over the lead and Catrine Telle officially opened in a ceremony the premiere on 29 January 2010 at Oslo Nye Hovedscenen the new musical Spring Awakening ( Spring Awakening ).
