The Sylvania 300 is one of two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, held annually at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The other is the Lenox Industrial Tools 301
History
The race was first held in 1997 and normally takes place in mid September. Once the race was postponed in the course of time, once was driven with air restrictors.
2000
After Adam Petty died in an accident in the Busch Grand National Series during practice for the Busch 200 and Kenny Irwin Jr. in thatlook.com 300, we sat in the Sylvania 300 of the year 2000 air restrictor. Thus, it is the only race were in addition to those used on the super speedways, in which air restrictor. In this race, Jeff Burton won after he led all of the 300 laps, which is very rare in NASCAR.
2001
The Sylvania 300 of the year 2001, at that time with the name " New Hampshire 300 ," was scheduled for 16 September 2001. Following the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001, the race was postponed. However, since no more weekend was free, you had to move the race to the end of the season in November. Fighting was done on 23 November 2001, a day after Thanksgiving. Goodyear brought a special tires for the race, as temperatures in New Hampshire are very low in November. Usually the races that take place very early or late in the season are held in warmer regions such as Florida. Winner of the race was Robby Gordon. For him, it was the first Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) victory of his career.
