Osvaldo Castro

Osvaldo Castro Pelayo ( born April 14, 1947 in Copiapo ), also known by the nickname Pata Bendita, is a former Chilean football player at the position of the striker.

Life

Association

" Pata Bendita " Castro began his professional career in the 1964 season at Unión La Calera, which he only narrowly escaped relegation in the season 1967. After three years he moved to the end of 1968, Club Deportes Concepción and went to Mexico, where he played for the rest of his another 13 year career for five different teams in the Mexican Primera División, scoring often more than 20 goals per season three years later. His most successful season was in 1973/74 when he top scorer in the Mexican league was in the service of Club América with 26 goals from 32 games. The same number of hits and two years later succeeded him in the service of the Club Jalisco, but achieved in this and in the following seasons the outstanding Brazilian striker Evanivaldo Castro " Cabinho " always more goals and was between 1975 /76 and 1981/82 seven times in a row, scorer the Mexican Primera División.

National

Between 1966 and 1977 graduated from " the most successful Chilean scorer of all time ," a total of 28 international appearances for the Chilean national soccer team. His international debut celebrated Pata Bendita on November 30, 1966 against Colombia and headed to the 5-2 win even two hits at. His last of seven international goals he scored on March 20, 1977 3-0 against Ecuador, his last international match took place one week later on March 26, 1977 as part of the World Cup qualifiers and instead they lost 0-2 against Peru, which the World Cup finals was missed.
