Oswestry School

Oswestry School is a boarding school in the English town of Oswestry.

History

Was founded the school in 1407 as a second -denominational independent school in England by David Holbache and his wife Guinevere Holbache ( walis. Gwenwhywer ). Initially, Latin, Greek and English grammar were taught. The first school building of the former Grammar School was built next to the Parish Church of St. Oswald. In the 18th century, however, the school had to zoom in and was moved to its present location. 1972 girls were admitted as pupils at the school for the first time.

School life

Currently visit approximately 100 boarders and 200 day pupils Oswestry School and are taught by their ninth up to 18 years and accompanied tests up to their GCSE and A-level. Furthermore, a kindergarten and primary school divided by the school. Housed students are according to the age groups in different houses in single or shared rooms, in which case a distinction between the 6th form is performed by the other students. In addition to the compulsory subjects, there are numerous school activities, such as:

The current headmaster is Mr Paul Stockdale. 2007 celebrated their 600th anniversary Oswestry School.
