Otorohanga

Otorohanga is a city on the North Island of New Zealand in the Waikato region. It has about 2500 inhabitants and is the administrative seat of the Otorohanga District.

Geography

The district is bounded on the northwest by the Waikato District and the North East by the Waipa District, while connecting to the east of the South Waikato District and Taupo District. The southern boundary divides the district with the Waitomo District.

The entire west coast is bordered by the Tasman Sea. The coast line is not straight, but has in the area of the district near the small town of Kawhia an incision - one of the three natural harbors in the region, the Kawhia Harbour on.
