Otto Herzog

Otto Herzog ( born October 5, 1888 in Fuerth, † August 27, 1964 in Munich), called Rambo, was a German extreme climbers and mountaineers who scored especially at the beginning of the 20th century to the best rock climbers in the Alps.

The skilled carpenter and carpenter put first the biner, the only fire department apparatus was customary to date, to secure and revolutionized by the safety systems when climbing. He was also one of the first who practiced the cable traverse. Otto Herzog was a soldier in the First World War and returned with a hand injury; but still managed to reach quickly climbing the highest levels of difficulty.

Mountaineering milestones in life Otto Duke:

Otto Herzog are attributed to 170 first ascents and 26 absolute first ascents. After his great climbing performance in the Eastern Alps, he was alpinistically active in Montenegro and in the Caucasus.

According to him, the Duke edge of Lalidererspitze is named in the Karwendel, he erstbestieg 1911.
