Otto Walzhofer

Otto rolling Hofer ( born June 21, 1926) is a former Austrian football player.

Career

Otto rolling Hofer began his career at second-rate XXI SC Columbia, from which he came to the first division Floridsdorfer AC in the 1946/47 season. Overall, should he succeed in his time in the highest Austrian league 185 goals as a striker. The breakthrough came Otto Hofer rolling in the season 1949/50, where he was first with 18 goals to the best league shooters. As a reward, the debut in the national team under Walter Nausch waved on March 19, 1950 against Switzerland and a change to Vienna on the Hohewarte. For over eight years stormed Otto Hofer rolling for the blue - yellow in the A- League and was at that time one of the most reliable players in attack. Highlight was winning the Austrian Championship in the 1954/55 season.

With the national team, Otto Hofer roll could, however, qualify for the World Championships in Switzerland in 1954 and 1958 in Sweden. Although he himself worked in the crucial qualifying matches at 9:1 against Portugal and 3-2 against the Netherlands, but came to no championship stakes. During the winter break of the season 1958/59 Otto rolling Hofer went to LASK and found two more years later the way to the SC Wacker Wien Meidling after, he supported in a relegation battle or where he helped with the re-emergence in 1962.

During his subsequent work as a coach in charge roller Hofer, among others, the SV Stockerau, the Vienna and the FAC. With the Vienna he got 1975/1976 on in the first division. His main job was in a bank active ( Creditanstalt ).
