Oulun Palloseura

Oulu Palloseura (short: OPS ) is a ball sport club was established in 1925 from the Finnish city of Oulu. The football team of the club in 1979 and 1980 Finnish champion.

There is also a bowling and a Bandyabteilung.

Football Division

Currently, the team plays in the Finnish second league, the Ykkönen. After the club in 1979 and 1980 won the Finnish championship, the Finns each qualified for the European Cup in 1980/81 and 1981/ 82 where there was a clash with Liverpool twice. In the first game Oulu managed a 1-1, but lost the return match in England with 1:10. In the following season they lost with 0:1 and 0:7.

Since the 2011 season, the club play in alternating with the AC Oulu in Raatin stadium.

Bandyabteilung

The Bandyabteilung the club won 1953-1964 seven times the national championship and still plays in the top division of Finland, Bandyliiga.
