Outlaws (Band)

Outlaws are an American rock band. In addition to groups like the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet, Charlie Daniels Band and Black Oak Arkansas, they are among the most important representatives of the Southern Rock.

The Outlaws were founded in 1972 in Tampa, Florida. The founding members were Billy Jones ( guitar), Henry Paul ( guitar), Hughie Thomasson (guitar), Monte Yoho (drums ) and Frank O'Keefe ( bass). O'Keefe was in 1977 replaced by Harvey Arnold. With the qualities of Hugh Thomasson, who composed most of the songs, the band created in a short time a large following. Her first recording contract the band signed with the Arista label. The debut album reached number 13 on the Billboard charts. This was also due to her famous song " Green Grass And High Tides ", with which the band was especially convincing live.

Other successes were the Outlaws with " There Goes Another Love Song" and recorded "Lady In Waiting ". "Lady in Waiting" was also the title of their second album. The effort of a large tour of the States made ​​it necessary to look for a second drummer.

The last tour of the Outlaws in 2007 ended abruptly with the sudden death of Hughie Thomasson on 9 September 2007.
