Ovidiu Petre

Ovidiu Petre ( born March 22, 1982 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian football player. Since January 2013, the midfielder is in ACS Poli Timişoara under contract.

Club career

Petre began in 1999 his career at FC Naţional Bucharest, where he even came in youth to use. On 22 April 2000 his debut in Divizia A against Rapid Bucharest, which won Rapid 3-2. 2003 Petre wrote a contract with Galatasaray. His debut in the Süper Lig he gave against Konyaspor, which they lost 1-0. He exchanged for 700,000 € to Galatasaray. He played 27 games for Galatasaray, scoring 1 goal. In January 2005, he moved back to Romania for FCU Politehnica Timişoara. Timişoara on weiste 200,000 € for him. Overall, Petre ran 33 times for Timişoara on, scoring 5 goals. In 2006 he moved to Steaua Bucharest. Steaua paid about € 1.5 million for the defensive midfielder. In the summer of 2010 it took Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia under contract. After a year Petre returned to Europe and hired the Italian second division side FC Modena. In summer 2012, parted ways again, and he was half a year without a club before the then second division side Poli Timisoara ACS took him in January 2013 under contract. With Poli 2012/13 he was promoted to the League 1 at the end of the season.

Petre played against Poland in 2002 his first international match which Romania won 2-1.
