Özden Örnek

Özden Örnek ( born 1943 in İzmit ) is a former Turkish admiral, who was most recently 2003-2005 Commander in Chief of the Navy ( Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri ).

Life

After attending primary school and secondary schools in İzmit he joined in 1957, first in the Seekadettenanstalt ( Deniz Lisesi ) and then completed the Naval Academy ( Deniz Harp Okulu ), from which he graduated in 1962 as a midshipman. After that, he was used as an officer in various naval units and naval vessels such as 1964-1967 as a division officer on a destroyer. He then completed a training course 1967-1969 in the U.S. and in 1975 an officer student at the Naval Academy ( Deniz Harp Akademisi ).

After he was from 1980 to 1981 commander of the destroyer TCG Adatepe (D -353 ), he attended the 1982 United States Naval Academy in Annapolis and was after his return to 1984 as a staff officer in the Operations Division of the High Command of the Navy operates.
