Pabneukirchen is a market town in Upper Austria in Perg district in Upper Austria with 1712 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

The municipality counts since 2003 to the Judicial District Perg ( previously the former district court Grein ) with the competent district court in the district capital Perg

Geography

Pabneukirchen is located on 571 m altitude in the Upper Austria. The expansion is 7.2 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 11.1 km. The total area is 41.1 km ². 37.2 % of the area is forested, 58.4 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. Culture and sights, natural monument

In the nature book of the Upper Austrian Provincial Government, the twelve -meter-high wall hermit is registered as a natural monument. It is a rock formation from Weinsberg Granite and interpreted as a sacrificial bowl depression which is caused by chemical and biological weathering.
