Pachakamaq

Kamaq Pacha ( Quechua: " Creator of the world "; Pacha also Ruraq or in Spanish spelling Pachacamac or Pacharurac ) was a deity, like the one about the Ichma in the city of Pachacamac ( Quechua: Pachakamaq ) before the conquest by the Spaniards ( Conquista ) was worshiped.

Pachakamaq was the creator of the first man and the first woman to whom he gave, however, no food, so that the man died. The woman who accused him of neglect, cursed the God of creation. Pachakamaq then gave her fertility. Later he killed her son and beat the corpse into pieces, from which arose the different fruits and vegetables. The second son of the woman Wichama, escaped, and Pachakamaq killed his mother. Wichama retaliated by driving Pachakamaq into the sea.

The Incas took over Pachakamaq, when they had conquered the area of Ichma with the city Pachakamaq. In the late Inca mythology, he was a son of Inti and Mama Killa Tayta as well as the husband of Mama Pacha. Only by the Ichma we know with certainty that they worshiped the Creator God of the same name in the city Pachakamaq, although before them other peoples had owned the place ( Wari, the sg Pachacamac empire, Chancay and Chimu ).
