The Painter of the Dresden Lekanis was an Attic black-figure vase - painters, works at about 580-570 BC He emigrated to Boeotia, and is identical to the Boeotian black-figure - Horse - Bird Painter (horse - bird - painter).

The painter received his Notnamen after a Lekanis Inv located in Dresden. ZV 1464th for him are typical animal friezes, especially with sirens, their design has been characterized as cartoon characters of the KX Painter ( John Boardman ). His vases were found not only in Attica, but also in Taranto, Alt- Smyrna and Ampurias (Spain).

Much of his vases is made of a lighter tone than is usual in Attic vases, which can be explained with the fact that he emigrated to Boeotia, where this sound was used. In Boeotia be times style was somewhat coarser, the specific character style with carvings and use patch colors can be, however, no doubt that it is the same painter personality.

Its production in Boeotia is far greater than in Athens, he will be more than 60 vases attributed to the majority of them alabastra. Here he again has a great fondness for the representation of sirens. They were probably all found in Greece itself, predominantly in Boeotia.
