PÃ¥l Golberg

Pål Golberg (born 16 July 1990) is a Norwegian cross-country skier.

Golberg started at the Junior World Championships 2008 in Val Venosta first time at an international championship. There he reached the quarter- finals of the sprint competition, finishing in 16th place. A year later, he improved in Le Praz -de- Lys Sommand with 13th place this result. At the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten 2010 he won behind his countryman Tomas Northug the silver medal in the sprint competition. About 10 km classic, he won the Junior World Championship title. Even with the Norwegian team, he was pleased about the gold medal. This success enabled him to launch first in Scandinavia Cup and the World Cup competition. In his first stakes in the World Cup in Drammen and Oslo, but he clearly failed to qualify for the finals. At the beginning of the season 2010/11, Golberg secured twelfth place in the sprint in Dusseldorf his first World Cup points. At the same place a year later surprised with the victory in the qualification and third place in the final. Also in the team sprint he was pleased with his partner Ola Vigen Hattestad about his first podium finish.
