Pallada (tallship)

The full-rigged ship Pallada (Russian Паллада ) is a Russian sail training ship 's home port Vladivostok.

It was built in 1989 as the fifth ship of a series of sister ships at the Polish shipyard in Gdansk Shipyard Gdanska - according to the plans of the Polish sailing ship designer Zygmunt choirs.

The Pallada is owned by the Far Eastern State Technical University for Fisheries ( Dalryba ) in Vladivostok.

In the Guinness Book of World Records, the Pallada is listed as the fastest sailing ship in the world. On 30 July 2007 she ran 18.7 knots during a tropical typhoon by the Formosastraße into the East China Sea.

The Pallada, with its dimensions ( LOA = 108.6 m) to the largest sailing ships in the world and was named after the Greek goddess " Pallas Athena ".

The built at the Gdansk shipyard sister ships of the Pallada are Dar Młodzieży, Khersones, Druzhba, Me and Nadezhda.
