Palle Lykke

Palle Lykke Jensen ( * November 4, 1936 in Rings, † April 19, 2013 in Belgium) was a Danish racing cyclist, who celebrated his greatest successes in Six Days.

Palle Lykke was one of the most successful six-day riders from the late 1950s to the late 1960s. During this time he started at 121 Six Days, of which he won 21. Only eight wins get him together with Kay Werner Nielsen, more partners were Freddy Eugene and his father Rik Van Steenbergen, with whose daughter Fanny he was married. In 1962, he was together with Van Steenbergen European champion in two - team driving.

Lykke also drove road race, albeit with less success. As an amateur, he took part in the UCI Road World Championships 1956 in Copenhagen and launched in the same year at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in the road race, but did not arrive at the finish. As a professional, he won the 1965 Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen in 1966 and finished third in the race Gent- Wevelgem. Four times he was Danish Champion in the sprint.
