Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is an aerial tramway opened in 1963 near Palm Springs in California. From the valley station in 806 m height to 2597 m high mountain station at Mount San Jacinto in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument, it overcomes a difference in altitude of 1791 m and several climate zones. The shuttle train runs here over 5 supports and covers a diagonal length of 3895 m.

It is the largest of the three rotating cable cars in the world, since it was rebuilt in 2001 by Doppelmayr and equipped with a ROTAIR cabin of the CWA, turns their stand area in the inner while driving around itself. This cabin has a diameter of 5.5 m and holds 80 people and the cabin companion. It weighs 10 tons empty and loaded up to 16.2 t.
