Palookaville (film)

Palookaville ( reference Title: Little Gangster, large coal ) is a 1995 comedy film produced.

Action

The friends Jerry, Russ and Sid live in Palookaville, New Jersey. Jerry's wife, Betty works in a supermarket. The friends dream of quick money and want to rob a jeweler. They confuse the store with a bakery. Even the later attack on an armored car goes wrong: The driver has a heart attack, the friends take him to hospital. They are considered heroes.

Jerry is a witness, as the head of his wife tries to grope her. After the subsequent dispute Betty is dismissed.

Jerry, Russ and Sid study gangster movies as a teaching material.

Reviews

  • James Berardinelli wrote that the film was different from the other films about failed crime, that he was almost free from violence. The characters would develop throughout the film.
  • Kenneth Turan, in his review in the newspaper Los Angeles Times (November 1, 1996) in the music of the film from the influence of Nino Rota. Run by Alan Taylor Director was " nice".
