The Panjnad ( Urdu پنجند ) is a river in the Pakistani state of Punjab. Its name literally means " five rivers ", as it unites in it the water of five major rivers of the "Five Mesopotamia " Punjab. It arises near the town of Alipur around 60 kilometers west of Bahawalpur by the confluence of the Satluj, the Beas is already the previously accrued, and the Chanab, fed by the Jhelum and the Ravi. After 71 kilometers it flows into the Indus near Mithankot. For irrigation purposes, a dam was built on the water-rich Panjnad.
