Paolo Agostino

Paolo Agostini (* 1583 in Vallerano; † October 3, 1629 in Rome ) was an Italian organist, conductor and composer of the early Baroque.

Paolo Agostini received his education at Giovanni Bernardino Nanino and Gregorio Allegri and worked in various churches of Rome as an organist and conductor. Finally, he provided these offices also at St. Peter's Basilica as successor by Vincenzo Ugolini.

He created several works of sacred music and is with its impact and sonorous compositions as one of the founders of the Roman Baroque.
