Paolo Fiammingo was born around 1540 in Antwerp and worked as a master in the Guild of St. Luke. He led, inter alia, Hans Fugger the wall group of elements in the Fugger Castle Kirchheim / Schwaben from Augsburg. To 1573 he settled permanently in Venice, where he was a pupil of Jacopo Tintoretto. He worked on his large paintings in the Palazzo Ducale, mainly due to the execution of the background scenery. In the records of the Venetian painters' guild he is registered from 1584 to 1596 as Paulo Fiamengo
