Paramount Vantage

Paramount Vantage is a film production company, which was known until 2006 Paramount Classics and a subsidiary of Paramount Pictures is. She specializes in smaller, lesser-known productions that have come not only from the United States and is therefore almost a independent label.

Academy Awards 2008

At the Academy Awards in 2008 Paramount Vantage went with 19 nominations in the race. Among them were eight nominations for the produced jointly with the Disney subsidiary Miramax oil drama There Will Be Blood (dir. Paul Thomas Anderson) and the thriller also produced by Miramax No Country for Old Men (directed by the Coen brothers ). In addition, two nominations in favor of the Motion Picture Into the Wild (directed by Sean Penn ) and one for The Kite Runner ( Director: Marc Forster ) which still operates under Paramount Classics.

Recovered were eventually four for No Country for Old Men and two for There Will Be Blood.
